Alma mater
"Notre Dame, Our Mother" was composed by Joseph J. Casasanta, a 1923 Notre Dame graduate, for the Oct. 11, 1930, dedication of Notre Dame Stadium. The song, written in honor of Notre Dame's patron, Blessed Virgin Mary, is part of the halftime show of the Band of the Fighting Irish and is the traditional conclusion to Notre Dame pep rallies.
